What

do you

think can

be done

to curb the

number of motorcycle accidents in Hanover and Westmore-land?

Dwayne Clayton, businessman:

"The buyer should be asked to present his driver's licence when he goes to purchase a motorcycle, and the motorcycle should be licensed and insured before he is allowed to leave the dealer with it, just like when you go to buy a car. That way, people will behave more responsibly."

Ras Dawit, farmer:

"The authorities need to target the source by making all who sell bikes become licensed, so you don't have a situation where you have a fish shop, but you can sell a bike from your back yard. It is a life and death issue, so they need to do what it takes,

legally, to protect these young people's lives."

Donald Campbell, farmer:

"If the police is doing spot checks in Lucea, you have bike men passing them without helmets. The police need to enforce the rules. The wearing of helmets is a must. Also, helmets and protective gear must be sold with bikes."

Trevor Craig, football coach:

"I think they should have a regulation that the owners have a licence and do a riding test."
