Hydel High School asserted their dominance and set a new meet record while Jamaica College displayed strong outings in the 4x200 metres at the Gibson McCook Relays this evening at the National Stadium.

Hydel captured the Girls’ 4x200-metre open in a record-setting 1 minute, 33.17 seconds (1:33.17) ahead of Edwin Allen, who clocked 1:37.29 for second place. St Jago High were third in 1:37.97.

Jamaica College (JC) took home two of the four titles in the Boys’ 4x200m, winning the Class One and Class Four races.

In Class One, they took victory in 1:25.92, ahead of Excelsior, 1:26.69, and Herbert Morrison, 1:27.71.

In Class Four, the ‘Dark Blues’ pipped St Jago at the line, clocking 1:36.02 to their 1:36:04. Calabar High were third in 1:39.48.

Calabar were better in Class Two, winning the two-lap relay in 1:27.13 ahead of St Elizabeth Technical High School, 1:28.21, and Jamaica College, 1:28.91.

St Jago won the Class Three event in 1:32.21, ahead of Calabar, 1:32.86, and JC, 1:36.62.
