Fourteen members of Jamaica's under 17 team that were scheduled to leave today for the Concacaf Under 17 Championships did not make their flight this morning because of documentation issues.

The 20-man squad as well as the technical staff led by head coach Merron Gordon were due to leave the island today from Montego Bay for Guatemala where the championships are scheduled to take place. According to Jamaica Football Federation general secretary Dennis Chung, the 14 members in question did receive their exemption letters to travel to the country but the letter did not make it in time for the flight.

However, Chung said that the 14 players are expected to leave tomorrow morning to join the rest of the squad which left today.

Jamaica are scheduled to open their Under 17 Concacaf Championship campaign on Sunday against Cuba. The top four teams will qualify for the Under 17 World Cup which is scheduled for later this year.
