MASTER OF HALL

MASTER OF HALL pulled alongside STORM at the top of the lane and casually went about his business to easily win yesterday's Royal Dad Trophy by six lengths, eased a half-furlong out by jockey Oneil Scott.

Never in danger of defeat, MASTER OF HALL ticked off a second consecutive win in the event for three-year-olds, non-winners of three races, clocking a decent 1:56.3 for nine furlongs and 25 yards.

ANNA LISA ran on inside the last half-furlong to relegate STORM to third, by a half-length, close to home in a private battle for second.

New apprentice Tevin Foster posted a two-timer on his second day in the saddle after being the first from the batch to get off the mark last Saturday.

Foster opened the mid-week 10-race card astride Anthony Nunes' 4-1 shot APOLLO BAY and returned to land the fourth with REASONS at odds of 7-2 for Howard Jaghai. Shane Ellis also rode two winners, tenderly guiding home roguish FIVE STAR in the eighth and returning to bring down the curtains at 5-1 aboard GOLDEN DESTINY.

Meanwhile, Panamanian Dick Cardenas continues to make inroads into Anthony Thomas' lead in their battle atop the jockeys' standings.

The two-time champion jockey won aboard 3-5 favourite RUNJOHNNY RUN at his favourite trip, five furlongs straight, cutting suspended Thomas' lead to 16 winners.

Thomas sat out the programme on a staggered three-day ban, which allowed him to ride last Saturday on Cash Pot Raceday but which will keep him out of the saddle this Saturday, giving Cardenas more room to continue his chase.
