The Caribbean media fraternity is mourning the passing of noted journalist and broadcast producer Brian St. Juste.
St. Juste, 68, died today after a period of illness.
He was the son of the late Trinidadian broadcasting pioneer Franklyn St. Juste and the brother of the late Jamaican radio personality François St. Juste.
The Jamaican-Trinidadian’s career spanned more than three decades in film, television and journalism.
In paying tribute, the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) said he leaves a long legacy and that it mourns with those grieving his loss.
The PAJ said he played a pivotal role in Jamaica’s democratic process, producing the televised debates for the Jamaica Debates Commission since 2007.
Internationally, he served as a consultant to the National Democratic Institute and the US Commission on Presidential Debates, helping countries across the Caribbean to stage nationally televised debates.
He also produced national staples such as the ISSA Boys & Girls Championships, the Miss Jamaica World Pageant and the Red Stripe Monday Night Football broadcasts.
He also served as president of the Jamaica Film Producers Association, advocating for stronger film policy and industry development.
The PAJ extended profound and heartfelt condolences to his widow and loved ones.
