67-y-o killed in Clarendon crash

A 67-year-old man died in a motor vehicle crash along the Rosewell main road in Sandy Bay, Clarendon on Monday afteroon.

He has been identified as Ralston Pinnock of a Sandy Bay address.

Preliminary reports indicate that Pinnock was driving along the Rosewell main road in a silver Toyota Belta when his vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed between a utility pole and a wall.

The police and fire brigade were summoned, and firefighters extricated him from the mangled vehicle.

He was later pronounced dead at hospital.

Relatives have theorised that Pinnock may have suffered a blackout prior to the crash, explaining that he was diabetic, and had complained earlier in the day of feeling unwell.

Data from the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch show that up to February 2, there have been 25 road fatalities on the nation’s roads.
