48-hour curfew in Stony Hill, Red Hills Road extended until Friday
The 48-hour curfews imposed in sections of Stony Hill and Red Hills Road in St Andrew, has been extended to Friday.
The curfew covers the communities of Airy Castle Road and Brooks Level in Stony Hill as well as 100 and Park Lane on Red Hills Road in the parish.
The measures were extended from 6 p.m. Wednesday and will end at 6 p.m. on Friday.
During the curfew hours, residents are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
Persons found on the streets without lawful excuse may be arrested and charged.
The security measures have been implemented as part of ongoing police operations aimed at maintaining order and ensuring public safety in the area based on intelligence.
The St Andrew North police division is one of nine policing divisions without a murder since the start of the year.
The police have urged residents to cooperate fully with members of the security forces as operations continue.
