Update |St Catherine man charged for alleged Christmas Day rape of intoxicated woman granted $200,000 bail
The Spanish Town, St Catherine man accused of raping an intoxicated woman on Christmas Day while she slept was today granted $200,000 bail with surety in the parish court.
Dave Dacres is charged with rape, indecent assault, and assault occasioning bodily harm.
As part of his bail, Dacres was ordered to keep away from the complainant.
The matter is to go back to court on March 20.
Allegations are that about 11:00 p.m. on December 25, 2025, Dacres sexually assaulted the woman after she became drunk and fell asleep at a house.
It is being further alleged that the woman tried to escape but was attacked by Dacres, who armed himself with a pipe and struck her on the back.
She, however, managed to evade him and reported the incident to the Spanish Town police.
An investigation by the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) launched a probe, which resulted in Dacres being arrested.
He was later charged on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
