70-y-o taxi operator dies after being hit by truck on Boxing Day in Manchester

A taxi operator who was hit by a truck on Boxing Day in May Day, Manchester, has since succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

He has been identified by police as 70-year-old Anthony Williams of the Waltham district in the parish.

The police report that about 9:30 p.m. on December 26, Williams walked out from behind a parked vehicle onto a roadway and was struck by an NPR Isuzu motor truck, sustaining severe injuries.

He was assisted to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.

The driver of the truck was warned for prosecution.

Williams later died on Sunday.

The Mandeville Traffic Department is investigating the matter.
