Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) says tax offices across western Jamaica are currently offering limited services with reduced operating hours arising from Hurricane Melissa.

TAJ says among the locations impacted by the storm are the Montego Bay, Falmouth, Jackson Town, Darliston and Lucea tax office.

It says the location in Montego Bay remains open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing all regular services except same-day driver’s licence processing.

Meanwhile, the Falmouth, Jackson Town, Darliston, and Lucea tax offices are operating from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

These offices are currently able to issue previously processed documents only, including driver’s licences, motor vehicle registration plates, motor vehicle titles and taxpayer registration number (TRN) Cards

Support for TAJ eServices, including Electronic Motor Vehicle Registration (eMVRC), is also available at these locations.

Customers accessing eServices must bring their own digital devices with internet connectivity.

TAJ says its teams are actively working to restore full services at all western Jamaica tax offices as soon as possible.

In the meantime, taxpayers are encouraged to utilise the wide range of services available via the online platform at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, including tax payments and motor vehicle transactions.
