The police are now processing two crime scenes in Above Rocks, St Catherine, after a shooting and suspected suicide which investigators say are related.

The Gleaner was told that in the first incident a man was shot and injured about 2 p.m.

The suspect in that shooting, a man known as “Sterling”, reportedly took his own life soon after.

The police reportedly stumbled on his lifeless body when they went in search of him.

Reports are that shortly before 2 p.m., the two had a verbal dispute which turned physical and then sounds of gunfire rang out.

One man was later seen suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to hospital. His injuries are not considered life threatening.

The St Catherine North police are now trying to put together clues from the incidents.

The division, with 57 murders so far this year, is second only to St Andrew South with 70, on the list of most murderous divisions in 2025.
