A 64-year-old Portland taxi operator has been charged after allegedly failing to hand over money from the sale of a vehicle to its owner.

Charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and fraudulent conversion is Nollis Lindsay, otherwise called 'Baldhead', of Richmond Hill in Port Antonio.

Reports from the Port Antonio police are that a woman employed Lindsay as a taxi operator in 2023.

According to the police, the vehicle sustained damage in April of that year, and the woman later provided him with the documents and instructed him to sell it.

After several enquiries, Lindsay allegedly informed her that he had sold the vehicle for $50,000 but claimed he was unable to contact her afterwards.

He also allegedly told the woman that he would hand over the money after he received a partner draw in October 2025.

The woman reported the matter to the police after she did not receive the funds as promised, and an investigation was launched.

Lindsay later turned himself in to the police in the presence of his attorney.

He was charged on Saturday, November 22, following a question-and-answer session.

He is scheduled to appear in the Portland Parish Court on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
