Two policemen charged for allegedly beating man with service guns in Trelawny

Two policemen have been charged for allegedly using their service weapons to beat a man in Racecourse in Falmouth, Trelawny.

Constables Daniel Osbourne and Craig Chang appeared before the Trelawny Parish Court at Duncan’s on a summons on Monday, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They were bound over for trial in January 2026.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says the incident occurred on March 7, 2024.

INDECOM states that following an investigation, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions ruled that the policemen should be charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

According to the agency, the complainant reported that he received injuries from strikes with the officers’ guns to his head, back, and hands.
