Police probing road rage incident allegedly involving soldier
The police say they are aware of a recent road rage incident in St Andrew in which a firearm was brandished and a man was physically assaulted along the roadway, seemingly in the presence of a policeman.
The Gleaner understands that prior to the road rage incident, a car chase ensued along sections of Constant Spring Road.
The short video which seems to have been captured by a passenger in a vehicle is making the rounds on social media.
Checks by The Gleaner revealed that the person who brandished the firearm is reportedly a member of the military.
The police say they are also looking into that aspect of the incident.
The assault incident apparently took place along Constant Spring Road, in the vicinity Oakland Apartments, where a grey sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a white Toyota Probox were seemingly pinned.
The Gleaner gathered that the Probox hit the SUV without stopping prior to the assault incident.
Our news team did not ascertain if an official report of the assault was made to the police.
The St Andrew North police say their investigation is ongoing.
