Man fatally struck while crossing highway in Trelawny

A 67-year-old man on Monday died after being hit while crossing the North Coast Highway in Trelawny.

He is Patrick Jackson, a wood carver of Salt Marsh in the parish.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that about 10:50 p.m., Jackson was crossing the roadway when he was hit by a Toyota Voxy motor car that was heading towards Falmouth.

He received several injuries.

The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, Jackson was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation continues.
