Local company hosts back-to-school treat for Spanish Town community
Scores of children receive school supplies from M&M Loans Company
Scores of children descended on the grounds of the M&M Loans Company in Spanish Town, St Catherine, for its annual back-to-school treat, which was held on Tuesday, August 5.
The day’s activities saw parents, guardians and children who turned out at the Wellington Street location, being presented with school supplies totalling more than 1000 bags, pencils, books and as well as book vouchers.
There was music, fun and frolic as persons and the youngsters waited to be served. They were also treated to hot meals complemented with various beverages.
“I feel very good to be here once more as I was here last year, but this year it is bigger and better and my two kids are ready fi school next month,” Michelle Nevins said.
Several persons expressed appreciation that the company was able to give back to the community in,which it operates.
M&M’s Chief Executive Officer, Marcel Williams, shared that that the company has benefited from its various clients, therefore, giving back has become a duty.
“We are pleased with the turnout, and that we were able to supply the needs of the hundreds which visited. This is the third staging and the biggest yet, therefore, it shows that it is a worthwhile gesture,” Williams said. He expressed appreciation to fellow business operator, Cal’s Distributors for donating several gift packages.
