Police constable held with illegal gun in Kingston
A member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force has been arrested after he was allegedly held with an illegal gun in Kingston on Sunday.
The 28-year-old constable, who is attached to the St Mary police division, is being held on suspicion of possession a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
Reports are that about 12:01 a.m., the police conducted a stop and search operation in Denham Town and the suspect was held with an S&W 40 pistol affixed with a magazine containing 12 rounds of cartridges.
The Denham Town Criminal Investigations Branch is probing the matter.
