The police have launched an investigation into the suspected murder of 68-year-old Paul Lloyd of Saltrum in Gayle, St Mary.

Lloyd was found lying unresponsive in a yard near a bar in Saltrum district on Monday. He had a wound to the head and was later pronounced dead by a doctor.

According to the police, the elderly man was last seen alive by residents around 12:30 a.m. on Monday sitting on the steps of a bar.

Lloyd's lifeless body was discovered shortly after by a resident.

"We are reassuring members of the public that every effort is being made to bring those responsible to justice," stated Anthony Wallace, head of the St Mary Police Division.

"We are appealing to anyone with information that may assist with this investigation to contact the Gayle Police at 876-875-8112 / 876-333-9530, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station," he added.
