Medical technologists who went on strike over wage issues yesterday are to return to work this morning.

Operations at the National Public Health Laboratory and the Blood Bank on Slipe Pen Road in Kingston were affected yesterday after the majority of  the workers called in sick to protest the non-payment of  retroactive salaries for the 2015/2017 contract period.

The workers claimed they were promised payment in their February salary.

A meeting was called at the Ministry of  Labour and General Secretary of  the Union of  Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Personnel, St Patrice Ennis, says a settlement was reached.

He says the medical technologists will resume duties at 8 o'clock, even as talks continue.
