Douglas Stiebel (left), chairman of the Jamaica Environment Trust (JET), presents Renee Whitehorne, marketing manager, CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank, with an award of appreciation for the bank’s continued support of JET programmes. The bank has been a consistent annual sponsor of the organisation’s School Environment Programme (SEP), through which teachers and students are guided in campus-based activities carried out by their schools’ environment clubs. At the end of the academic year, top-performing schools are assessed and awarded for their environmental work. SEP is funded through a grant from the Natural Resources Conservation Authority, with additional support from corporate partners like CIBC.
