Tanya Golaub’s faves out west and what’s on her playlist
Attorney-at-law and LCH Developments chief operations officer Tanya Golaub takes us on a tour of her five favourite spots out west – from childhood beach memories to hidden art gems and seafood by the sea.
FIVE FAVE SPOTS OUT WEST
Doctor’s Cave Beach: “I love the view and the history. It was traditionally known for its healing waters. As a child, I used to go every Saturday with my mother, sister, and brother, and family friends and play all day. Actually, I just went last weekend by boat with family and friends.”
Saba Art Gallery: “[Saba] is located at Fort Street, and [such] a quaint, interesting place. They feature local artists and even some international ones. It always feels like a treasure hunt as I’m always seeking interesting pieces. I am an artist myself, and Saba has some of my work at the gallery.”
The fishing village at Lilliput: “[This] is my source for fresh seafood, but visiting is always a treat. You roast by the sea, and they will even take you out to sea if you’re early. My [go-to] fisherman, Jackie, is a third-generation fisherman to my family.”
Tropical Gardens nursery: “It’s a flower nursery close to Rasta Village, located on a river in an area called Sign. I love wild orchids and buy mine there. They have unusual plants and a wide variety, too, which I am most appreciative of being a plant lover.”
The Houseboat Grill: “It’s relaxing being on the water. The waves [offer] a gentle lull. In fact, they have one of my favourite meals: lobster carbonara. Houseboat is a must for anyone visiting. Ask for the special spicy sauce ... beurre blanc sauce!”
WHO’S CURRENTLY ON HER PLAYLIST?
