Give me back my money, Digicel
THE EDITOR, Sir:
On August 17 at 10:28 p.m., I activated the plan to watch the Caribbean T20 cricket league on my old, perfectly functioning Note5 at a cost of $1,350. Digicel took the money, and sent me a message that the app does not work on jailbreak device!
I made no fewer than 10 attempts that night to speak to an agent between 10:32 and 11 p.m. dialling 100, to no avail. I went to the store in Tropical Plaza Monday and the agent herself could not speak with a customer service rep, not that I am surprised.
When I enquired about the jailbreak device message, she said if the phone was not a Digicel phone, it would be locked and had to be specially opened. Since the phone was purchased from Digicel, the explanation made no sense. I was told to go into Digicel's head office to deal with the issue.
Hear me now, Digicel. Put back the $1,350 on my phone.
Talking to stupidly programmed machines is disrespectful to your customers, especially when your customer service is nothing more than a barely functioning country latrine.
It's been an absolute displeasure dealing with you.
