Water problems dog Roehampton
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Since Saturday, the Roehampton Drive area has barely had any water. Whenever we call National Water Commission's (NWC) customer care number, we get a different explanation all the time.
This is unacceptable, as no one in your organisation seems to know what is going on, much less fix the problem. It is now clear yet again that the NWC does not care about its customers.
Water supply went from 6 a.m. Tuesday, came back at a trickle at 5 p.m., and then is gone again at 8:30. To make matters worse, the phone system or lines at your call centre are not working properly, so the calls are constantly being disconnected.
What is the problem? Are we experiencing some imagined drought? Or is the NWC incapable of providing water to their paying customers?
This all started with the MIYA project, which is an inconvenience, but at least it was scheduled, although poorly so. Now, without warning, water goes several times a day.
I am tired of hearing apologies from the call-centre agents. I, as well as many others, would like to have this issue addressed and water back in the pipes for a period longer than a few hours.
