Juici Patties has opened a new franchise in the booming Drax Hall area of St Ann, thanks to franchisees Shermaine Desnoes and Glen O’Connor, directors of Golden Grain Baking Company.

The new location, at Boot service station, offers comfortable accommodation as well as drive-through service for motorists who prefer that option.

The grand opening, which took place recently, attracted a large turnout with residents showing their delight in having a Juici Patties branch in the community.

Franchise co-owner Shermaine Desnoes shared her excitement on opening the restaurant.

“We are both ‘foodies’ coming from ‘cooking families’, both with deeply multicultural backgrounds and we always wanted to open a restaurant,” Desnoes shared.

“In fact, we have been encouraged by family and friends to do this for many years, especially after one of our ‘cook-ups’. We love good food and always strive for the best in all that we do. This is the kind of passion we are bringing to the Drax Hall community through the Juici Patties brand,” she added.

Desnoes hailed the brand as offering authentic Jamaican food, saying it’s a world-class brand offering world-class products.

The opportunity to operate a Juici franchise came 16 years after Desnoes first enquired. The opportunity just came, she said.

For O’Connor, the opportunity came at the right time with the rapid development taking place at Drax Hall.

“It’s one of the fastest growing communities in Jamaica and a lot of prominent businesses are emerging,” O’Connor noted.

“There is really no better place to be in St Ann right now. With many metropolitan conveniences coming to the area, we’re convinced Juici Patties has a natural place amid the action,” he added, in explaining the reasoning behind selecting the location.

Juici Patties opened 45 years ago and has grown to be Jamaica’s largest restaurant chain with over 60 locations, islandwide, along with several in the United States.
