Andrea Lowe-Garwood’s family believes that her strong faith in God insulated her from any fears she had of dying.

The 51-year-old banker, who was killed during a live broadcast of the Agape Christian Fellowship church service in Trelawny on Sunday, seemed to have had a premonition that her days were numbered.

On Sunday, Lowe-Garwood’s Facebook message to her “One Pickney (son)” saw her pleading for the intervention of “PuppaJesaz (Jesus)” by covering him under His blood.

“Based on the threats she was receiving, my interpretation from what she posted was, they could take her body, but could not destroy her soul, because she was at peace with God,” said a close relative who spoke with The Gleaner Monday evening.

He said Lowe-Garwood and her two brothers grew up in church, a principle taught by their late mother.

“Once under her roof, they all had to go to Sunday school,” the relative, who requested anonymity because of security fears, said.

Lowe-Garwood had allegedly received death threats from the family of her late husband, Jeffrey Garwood. Four persons have been detained in relation to the murder, including the presumed shooter.

The relative said that he never anticipated that any member of his family would die so violently, forcing him to seek the counsel of a pastor on Sunday night.

“Her killing felt like being on an emotional roller coaster. I literally thought I was going to pass out,” he told The Gleaner.

Another close relative praised Lowe-Garwood for her transparency and sense of independence.

Lowe-Garwood’s husband, who died in a traffic crash in 2020, was her life and she reportedly raved about his attributes to her family.

“He was her world. Her mother loved him like cooked food,” said the relative.

“Even when she was ill, if she didn’t remember anyone else when her memory was going, she remembered him.”
