DRAMATICALLY MODERN, the Church of Our Lady of the Angels, Molynes Road, has one of the largest and highest shingle roofs in St Andrew.
NEWLY REFURBISHED Vale Royal is a heritage from the past, becoming a monument of the present. Repaired in 1961, it was meant to be occupied by Jamaica's prime minister.
TRAFALGAR PARK HOUSE – guarded by small carriers (now purely ornamental), is now the residence of the British high commissioner in Jamaica.
SIMMS Hall, Jamaica College, is architecturally reminiscent of a cathedral. The college has its place in Jamaica's history, as it was in 1902 that the Jamaica High School (opened 1883) was amalgamated with the University College of Jamaica into the school popularly known as JC.

Architectural styles in St Andrew have made rapid and dramatic changes within recent years. Delicate woodwork is replaced with sturdy concrete. The modern flair for the dramatic moves builders to emulate the majestic sweep of hillside curves. With the change, St Andrew is acquiring a new set of monuments, new notes for the history of a future age.
