Three first-time nominees for Best Reggae Album Grammy category
Lila Iké, Keznamdi and Mortimer join Kartel, Jesse Royal
The nominees for Best Reggae Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards have been announced, and they are all homegrown acts, including three first-time nominees.
They are Treasure Self Love, the debut album by Lila Iké; Heart and Soul by Vybz Kartel; BLXXD & FYAH by Keznamdi; From Within by Mortimer and No Place Like Home by Jesse Royal.
This year’s list spans the spectrum of modern reggae and dancehall —from Iké’s soulful self-affirmation and Kartel’s introspective edge to Keznamdi’s fiery experimentation, Mortimer’s roots-rich reflections, and Royal’s ode to home and heritage.
This is the first nomination for Lila Iké, Keznamdi and Mortimer. Vybz Kartel was nominated in 2024 for Party With Me, and Jesse Royal in 2021 for Royal.
The last Grammy for Best Reggae Album went to Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired by the Film (Various Artists).
The winners of the 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be announced in Los Angeles on February 1.
