Jamaicans tuned into the highly rated American late-night talk show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' last night as the three Ss, Spice, Shaggy and Sean Paul, made a guest performance.

Created and hosted by the popular comedian Jimmy Kimmel and broadcast on weeknights on ABC, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' features interviews with political personalities and A-list Hollywood celebrities and welcomes artistes to put on live musical performances.

Tuesday night's guests included The Tomorrow War's Betty Gilpin and Owen Wilson.

As Kimmel introduced the guest performance, he showed viewers the cover art for Spice's début album, Ten. The Jamaican trio then went on to perform their massive collab, Go Down Deh, a song that is being labelled the summer anthem.

They kicked off one of three international television performances on Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series last Friday, aired on ABC network, which saw them not only doing Go Down Deh, but also a 'summery' medley on the iconic Dave Kelly-produced Showtime rhythm.

Their third performance will be on the 'Wendy Williams Show' on Friday, June 18.

The Port Authority of Jamaica's (PAJ) cruise port at the Historic Naval Dockyard in Port Royal hosted the performances. Professor Gordon Shirley, president and CEO at the PAJ, noted that one of the goals for the development of the Port Royal Cruise Port was to create a gateway to Kingston, largely considered the 'cultural capital' of the Caribbean, in an environmentally sustainable manner.

He stated in a release, "Port Royal and by extension Jamaica are showcased to a global audience highlighting its natural attractiveness and attributes, as heritage sites in Port Royal, the Blue Mountain range, and the Kingston Harbour form a natural, alluring backdrop for the GMA performance. These promotional opportunities will redound immensely to the credit of Jamaica's cruise product as well its tourism, cultural and entertainment sectors, which inevitably will foster the creation of economic and social benefits for the Port Royal community in particular and Jamaica in general."

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia 'Babsy' Grange, who was on site for the performances, commented in the release that the pier was created for cruise shipping to open up the historic town of Port Royal to visitors from over the world.

"The performance by Shaggy, Sean Paul and Spice showed that the venue is great for television, film and all types of entertainment, and it has created a great backdrop for the shows that are viewed by millions of Americans," Minister Grange said.

All three high-quality performances, which are being aired on prime time US television, were filmed by Phase Three Productions, by an all-Jamaican crew. VP Records is the engine behind the massive production.

Go Down Deh will appear on the highly anticipated Ten, which will be released by VP Records on July 30.

"I'm very humbled to know that I'm sandwiched between two legends – two of our genre's greatest – so I'm just so happy and humbled to have Shaggy and Sean Paul on my record," Spice said.

In a recent interview ABC interview, Shaggy declared that " Go Down Deh is a song that the culture needed".

He added, "Sean and I have known each other for years, and Spice also. Spice is somebody that both Sean and I really respect and love her craft and love what she represents in dancehall."

Sean Paul revealed that he and Shaggy had discussed the need for more tracks featuring multiple artistes who showcase Jamaican music.

"Collaboration in our genre is something that we need to do more of, which is what me and Shaggy have been speaking of," he told ABC. "We both agree that this is Spice's time right now. Her album is way overdue."

The accompanying visuals for Go Down Deh, directed by Jay Will, premièred on BET and has amassed 13.3 million YouTube views since its May 1 release. The #godowndehchallenge on TikTok has garnered 35 million views of the nearly 40 thousand videos created to date. Go Down Deh was produced by Grammy nominee Costi Ionita and Shaggy and written by Spice, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Costi and Shane Hoosong.
