Feel it to heal it
We often hear the saying “no pain, no gain”, but do we live it? The moment pain comes into our lives, our first instinct is to escape, by ignoring, suppressing, or running away from it. Yet, pain isn’t here to punish us; it is here to teach us. It whispers that the old must go for the new to be born. Each time we turn away, the pain lodges deeper within, waiting for us to finally listen. In truth, pain is a messenger, inviting us to transform.
THE COURAGE TO FEEL
Allowing yourself to feel pain is one of the bravest acts you can do. It is like agreeing to a surgery without anaesthesia—raw, torn, and deeply hurtful. But just as wounds must be cleaned before they heal, pain must be faced before it can release its grip.
When you allow pain to break you open, something beautiful happens: new strength, clarity, and resilience grow in its place. That part of your life touched by pain becomes unshakable. Life’s deepest lessons are absorbed either in moments of utter silence or great suffering, and for most of us, pain is the teacher.
PAIN EXHAUSTS YOU!
Have you ever wondered where unfelt pains go? The grief you swallowed, the heartbreak you silenced, the anger you buried, where did it go? Pain does not vanish when ignored. It resides in the body, turning into unreasonable exhaustion and illnesses. Over time, it hardens. Pain is not meant to be trapped. It longs to move, be witnessed, felt, and finally to be released. Only then does space open for joy, peace, and love to sprout from within.
DON’T DISRESPECT YOURSELF
Feeling pain is not a weakness—it is a profound act of self-respect. When you sit with your pain and allow it to speak, you tell your body and mind: “I will no longer abandon you. I am ready to listen.” Allowing yourself to feel the pain in its entirety is like bidding farewell to a long-held guest who overstayed. Pain has only kept you hostage. Letting it go is a sacred moment of freedom, rebirth of a lighter you.
DON’T DELAY IT
The next time you feel any pain – physical or emotional – observe your response. Are you resisting by shutting people out, distracting yourself, or numbing your feelings? If so, pause. Remember that by running, you only delay your healing. Pain has a job: to guide you through its lesson and then leave. If you allow it to complete its work, you will be able to release it forever. In that release lies nourishment, renewal, and freedom. To heal is to feel, and in that process, you rediscover the most authentic you.
