St George’s take first leg of Oliver Shield

Manning Cup champions St George’s College came from 2-1 down with five minutes on the clock to beat daCosta Cup winners St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) 3-2 in the first leg of schoolboy’s biggest football prize, the Olivier Shield a short while ago.

The game was played in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth.

Oneil Fisher leveled the scored at 2-2 in the 85th minute and captain Devon Williams scored the winning goal in time added on.

Marvin Morgan scored the first goal for St. George’s College in the 58th minutes.

Denmark Gillings, 10th minute and Romero Thompson, 75 minute, scored the goals for STETHS.

The second-leg will take place at Harbour View Stadium in Kingston on Saturday.

St George’s College are the current titleholders after their success in last year’s two-way final against St James High.
