Farmer chopped to death in Portland, suspect in custody

A farmer was chopped to death during an incident in the Content district of Hope Bay, Portland, on Thursday afternoon.
The incident reportedly occurred sometime after noon.
It is reported that the farmer was attacked by another man and sustained fatal chop wounds to the head and upper body.
His identity has not yet been released.
The alleged attacker has since been taken into police custody as investigators probe the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The homicide is the latest recorded in the Portland Police Division, which had registered two murders between January 1 and June 27 this year, according to the latest Jamaica Constabulary Force crime statistics.
