WISDOM OF THE WEEK - Be ‘telegraphic’

Modern life has become full of noise. We are talking all the time — with others, on phones, on social media, and even inside our own minds. If there is nobody around to speak to, we immediately open an app, scroll endlessly, record stories, or send messages to strangers. Silence has become so uncomfortable because it brings us face-to-face with ourselves.

A few hours of silence each day can recharge the mind and refresh the soul. This does not mean escaping to the mountains or becoming silent forever. It simply means learning to pause. When we stop unnecessary talking, we begin to hear our deeper thoughts more clearly. Constant chatter is often an escape from inner emptiness. We keep ourselves occupied so we do not have to sit quietly with our inner chaos.

The same habit appears in many other areas of life. People eat more than the body needs, work endlessly without rest, and constantly search for entertainment. Food, television, social media, smoking, drinking, or endless work have all become ways to avoid the inner world. Instead of understanding the emptiness within, we try to fill it from the outside.

YOUR WORDS ARE GEMS

Every word carries energy. A few kind words can heal someone’s heart while careless words can ruin someone’s day. Yet many people throw words around without value, speaking endlessly without purpose or awareness.

What we speak and how we speak reveal our inner state. A calm and thoughtful person naturally speaks with clarity and balance. A restless mind speaks restlessly. Not every thought needs to become a sentence, and not every sentence needs to become a conversation.

Treat your words like diamonds or precious gems. Who throws gems on the street? We protect valuable things and use them wisely. In the same way, use your words carefully and meaningfully. Speak where it matters, with kindness, and with awareness. Fewer words create a deeper impact.

Words sprout from thoughts. Thoughts are subtle energy. Endless unnecessary thinking drains the mind just as unnecessary talking drains the body. Be telegraphic even in your thinking. Learn to keep only the thoughts that are useful, creative, and uplifting.

SAVE ENERGY

When we stop wasting energy through excessive talking, thinking, eating, or unnecessary activity, a great amount of inner strength is saved. That energy can then flow into creativity, peace, growth, and meaningful relationships.

Silence sharpens awareness. Slowly, one discovers that peace is not outside.  It is present within us, hidden beneath the noise. Use only what is necessary whether it is words, food, thoughts, or actions. Life becomes lighter, clearer, and meaningful when we learn the art of “enough”. Let's begin with one hour of 'no talking' in the morning.
