SHE’S THAT GIRL, ridden by Tajah Suckoo, wins the Omar Walker Trophy over 5 1/2 Furlongs at Caymanas Park on Sunday, March 1.

NOT having to face any open-allowance runner slipping down in class, speedy SHE’S THAT GIRL has dodged a bullet in Sunday’s Trevor ‘Slicer’ Simpson Trophy at five furlongs round, her first shot at overnight-allowance winners.

MINIATURE MAN, who returned off a near two-year lay-up last November, has the most recognised back-class as the 2021 Guineas winner. Less than a month after his comeback, MINIATURE MAN placed third behind ATLANTIC CONVOY and ZULU WARRIOR at six furlongs, signalling he still has some fire in him.

However, the eight-year-old has not won a race in years, leaving him to be run off his ageing legs by SHE’S THAT GIRL, who clocked 1:06.4 in the Omar Walker Trophy on March 1.

SHE’S THAT GIRL closed a great weekend for lightweight claiming rider Tajay Suckoo, four winners in two days, following a career-first three-timer the previous afternoon.

Let loose on the lead after zipping past STRIKE SMART, back-to-form SHE’S THAT GIRL won easily with 107lb, her second race off a near nine-month lay-up.

SHE’S THAT GIRL tore away from STRIKE SMART and SMART TRICK, straightening clear of HUNTSMAN, who was afterwards relegated to third by late-running COOKIE DAY N NIGHT.

Clocking 1:06.4 on a track made fast by mid-afternoon rain, SHE’S THAT GIRL made light work of rivals, signalling she is back to her 2024 form when she had won three of four sprint events after testing the 10-furlong Jamaica Oaks.

Trainer Steven Todd hasn’t asked SHE’S THAT GIRL to rip at exercise since clocking 1:00.3 and 59.3 from the gate before her March 1 comeback victory. Instead, an easy 23.2 out the straight, a sharp reminder that she won’t be hanging around at the minimum trip on the round course.
