Oblique Seville triumphant; Kishane Thompson takes silver

Jamaica's Oblique Seville (left) and Kishane Thompson celebrate their one-two finish in the men's 100 metres final at the World Athletics Championships at Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.

Oblique Seville has earned his first global individual medal, taking the men’s 100-metre World Athletics Championships title in a new personal best of 9.77 seconds at the Japan National Stadium.

Compatriot Kishane Thompson claimed the silver medal in 9.82s, to complete a Jamaica 1-2 finish.

USA’s Noah Lyles had to settle for third in 10.89s.
