Attempts are currently being made to use a heavy-duty crane to lift a water truck which went over a bridge at Clear Spring in Portland on Monday evening.

The truck was being driven back to Port Antonio after delivering water to several residents in the Drapers area when it went over a bridge in the vicinity of the school of Hope.

The driver escaped injury, however, the truck remains partially submerged.

Dozens of residents are now gathered at the scene of the accident, and the police have halted vehicular traffic as the crane from China Harbour Engineering Company attempts to lift the water truck from the river.
