Traffic changes announced for carnival road marches

Members of the public are being advised that several road closures will be implemented across the Corporate Area on Sunday, starting at 8 a. m ., to facilitate three carnival road marches.

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes and comply with directions given by police officers on the ground.

YARD MAS & MOTION PARADE

Before the march:

•Authur Wint Drive will be closed between Mountain View Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue from 8:00 a.m., to 10:00 a.m.

•Traffic coming up Mountain View will be diverted left on to Deanery Avenue.

•Traffic which usually travels easterly along Authur Wint Drive will be diverted Rosevelt Avenue.

•No traffic will be allowed to enter Mountain View Avenue from Old Hope Road or Seaview Avenue.

•Traffic which usually travels along Stanton Terrace will be diverted onto Rosevelt Avenue.

During the march

•Persons leaving the Loft Apartment will use Criefe Road.

•Between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. no vehicular traffic will be allowed along Mountain View Avenue between Old Hope Road and Authur Wint.

•Between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. no vehicular traffic will be allowed along Old Hope Road between Mountain View and Hope Road.

•Between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. no vehicular traffic will be allowed along Hope Road between Old Hope Road/Barbican Road and East Kings House Road.

After lunch:

The reverse will take place.

EXODUS PARADE

Before the march

•Between 9:40 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Hope Road will be closed between Kingsway and Winchester Road.

•Waterloo Road will be closed at Waterloo Avenue.

•Trafalgar Road will be closed at Knutsford Boulevard.

•All off roads along Trafalgar Road between Hope Road and Lady Musgrave Avenue will be closed.

During the march

•Trafalgar Road between Knutsford Boulevard and Lady Musgrave will be already closed hence, Xodus will flow smoothly up to Seaview Avenue.

•Between 11:55 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Lady Musgrave Road will be closed between Hope Road and Seaview Avenue. All roads leading on to Lady Musgrave Road between those points will be closed.

•Between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. Hope Road between Lady Musgrave Road and Trafalgar Road and Waterloo Road will be closed, all road leading on to Hope Road between those points will be closed.

After lunch

•Between 2:30 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. Hope Road between Trafalgar Road and Lady Musgrave Road will be closed. All roads leading onto Hope Road between those points will be closed.

•Between 3:25 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. Lady Musgrave Road between Hope Road and Trafalgar Road will be close to facilitate the return leg of the parade. All roads leading on to Lady Musgrave between those points will be closed.

•Trafalgar Road to Campari Boulevard to Devon House would be already closed off hence, the parade can proceed smoothly along.

GEN X PARADE

Before the march

•Between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Knutsford Boulevard between Dominica Drive and Oxford Road will be closed to the motoring public.

•Motorists intending to go to Pegasus Hotel and Country Yard by Marriot will be diverted on to Half-Way Tree Road to Oxford Road to Knutsford Boulevard and travel northerly along Knutsford Boulevard.

•Between 8:30 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. all roads leading onto Knutsford Boulevard will be closed.

•Between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. all roads leading on to Trafalgar Road will be closed.

•Between 10:35 a.m. and noon no traffic will be allowed to travel westerly along Hope Road and all roads leading on to Hope Road will be closed between East Kings House Road, Lady Musgrave Avenue and Waterloo Road.

•Between noon and 1:00 p.m. , all road leading on Lady Musgrave between Trafalgar Road and Hope Road will be closed.

After lunch

•Between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. no vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel along Half-Way Tree Road on to Oxford Road.

•Between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. the parade will proceed easterly along Hope Road to Trafalgar Road.

•Between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. the parade will travel along Trafalgar Road onto Knutsford Boulevard and culminate at Emancipation Park.
