Following a successful inaugural year, the Tentastic Theatre Festival returns for its second staging, bringing together some of Jamaica’s most exciting and celebrated theatre practitioners for a dynamic celebration of performance, storytelling, and artistic innovation.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the festival continues its mission to create space for emerging and established creatives while strengthening Jamaica’s theatre ecosystem through accessible, contemporary, and thought-provoking work.

Co-founded by Nadean Rawlins and Shantol Jackson, Tentastic presents an exciting line-up of theatrical presentations featuring some of Jamaica’s finest creative talents including Maya Wilkinson, Owen ‘Blakka’ Ellis, Deidrie Wadsworth, Rayon McLean and Neila Ebanks, among many others representing the breadth and diversity of the island’s performing arts community.

Known for its distinctive format, the festival showcases short-form theatrical experiences designed to challenge convention, amplify unique voices, and create memorable audience experiences. From comedy and social commentary to experimental and emotionally resonant works, Tentastic offers a platform where established artists and emerging voices meet.

Beyond performance, the festival continues its commitment to youth engagement and sector development by creating meaningful opportunities for students and emerging theatre practitioners. Through workshops, technical theatre exposure, live rehearsal observation, and direct engagement with industry professionals, Tentastic aims to build practical skills, expand creative knowledge, and inspire the next generation of Jamaican theatre-makers while strengthening the long-term sustainability of the sector.

“Tentastic was created as a space for experimentation, discovery, and excellence in Jamaican theatre. We are excited to return for a second year and continue building opportunities for artistes while connecting audiences with bold and meaningful work,” said Nadean Rawlins.

The Tentastic Theatre Festival will take place from May 29–31, at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, The University of the West Indies, Mona.

Tickets and additional festival information will be announced via official festival channels.
