Delta joins growing list of US airlines raising checked bag fees as jet fuel costs soar
Delta Air Lines announced Tuesday that it is raising checked baggage fees, part of a broader wave of United States carriers responding to higher jet fuel prices tied to the war in the Middle East. Beginning Wednesday, most domestic and short-haul international passengers will pay $45 to check one bag, $55 for a second and $200 for a third, according to Delta. That’s an increase of $10 on each of the first two bags and $50 on the third.
