GEORGE TOWN, Cayman (CMC):

The Bermuda women’s national team announced their 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers campaign spectacularly, delivering a commanding 4-0 victory over the Cayman Islands on Thursday.

From the opening whistle at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex, Bermuda launched a relentless assault that left the home side reeling.

The tone was set almost immediately, as Eva Frazzoni broke the deadlock in just the second minute, meeting a corner kick with a powerful, clinical finish from inside the box.

The early pressure never relented. Just 11 minutes later, Kenni Thompson pounced on a defensive miscue, coolly slotting home a left-footed strike to double Bermuda’s advantage and put the visitors firmly in control.

The first-half dominance was capped off five minutes before the break by Jaden Masters, who unleashed a precise right-footed shot from the right side of the area to make it 3-0.

The goal was facilitated by another moment of brilliance from Thompson, who notched her second assist of the match.

After the break, Bermuda managed the game effectively before putting the final exclamation point on the performance in the 68th minute.

Nia Christopher found her way past goalkeeper Ericia Burke to seal the comprehensive 4-0 victory and secure a crucial three points to start Group C play.

The win propels Bermuda to the top of the group as they look ahead to their next fixture against Guatemala on December 1. The Cayman Islands, meanwhile, will regroup and search for their first win when they face Guatemala in the March international window.

In other Concacaf W Qualifiers action on Thursday, the US Virgin Islands defeated St Lucia 3-1, while Nicaragua secured a comfortable 4-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda.
