A submachine gun was among a cache of firearms and ammunition seized by the Kingston East police during an operation on Thompson Avenue on Tuesday morning.

Authorities recovered one Uzi submachine gun, three magazines, three Glock pistol magazines, one AK rifle magazine, twelve twelve-gauge cartridges, one 5.56 cartridge, and one .45 cartridge.

No arrests have been made in connection with the seizure, the Jamaica Constabulary Force said in a post on social media site X.

It said investigations are ongoing.
