Stop killing our women
THE EDITOR, Madam:
Another young woman has been brutally killed by the machete. It is reported that she was chopped several times by her common-law husband, who has now been charged with murder. Brutal deaths, like this one, make my blood run cold.
Aren’t we tired of hearing of a woman being brutally murdered – chopped to death, stabbed to death, by her common-law husband, in domestic disputes? Can’t we see that these hooligans take it for granted to butcher our women, like animals to the slaughter? How many more women will these monsters butcher like dogs?
Ninety-nine per cent of the time, it’s so-called men who are murdering women. Very seldom we hear of a woman killing or beating a man.
When a man is about to kill a woman, why can’t something mysterious happen to prevent it from taking place?
Even when the matter is a simple one, they still kill the woman. They rob her and kill her. There are too many killers in Jamaica. There should be no bail for them before trial; and there should be no parole either, when they are being sentenced to prison.
