A man and a woman were killed in a horrific crash in Holland Bamboo, St Elizabeth this morning.

The police Corporate Communications Unit says their names have not yet been ascertained.

Investigators at the scene believe speeding was a factor.

Since the start of the year 34 persons have died in motor vehicle crashes, a three per cent decrease when compared with the corresponding period last year.

Police sources say the male victim was driving a car along the Holland Bamboo main road when he attempted to overtake another vehicle.

According to reports, he lost control of the vehicle causing it to collide in a bus travelling in the opposite direction.

It’s believed that the female victim was a passenger in the bus.
