THIS WEEK IN HOSPITALITY JAMAICA: Couples Resorts land top rankings
Couples Negril has been ranked the highest among Jamaica’s all-inclusive resorts, according to Conde’ Nast Traveller’s Reader’s Choice Awards.
It is also among Jamaica’s top hotels in the adults-only all-inclusive category with Couples Tower Isle and Couples Swept-Away also picking up top rankings.
China registers for C’bean Marketplace
More than 30 new buyers from emerging markets in Eastern Europe, United Kingdom, China, Latin America and South America are booked to participate in the Caribbean Travel Marketplace in Montego Bay this month.
The region’s leading tourism marketing event, Caribbean Marketplace will be staged at the Montego Bay Convention Centre from January 29 - 31.
"This is the first time we are going to have the Chinese," said Jamaica’s tourism minister, Edmund Bartlett.
Real optimism for regional tourism
The new president of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourist Association, Patricia Affonso-Dass, says there is a real optimism for the region.
However, Affonso-Dass says the positive developments will only materialise if all industry players reinvent and improve their businesses, processes and human resources.
"We must be nimble, adaptable and innovative in this era of constant change," she charged.
