$96 million upgrade for Grange Hill to Little London road
The National Works Agency (NWA) is spending $96 million on a road improvement project along the Grange Hill to Little London corridor in Westmoreland.
Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region Janel Ricketts says the project targets 9.5 kilometres of roadway and will include road reconstruction and patching and drainage improvement.
Ricketts says particular emphasis will be placed on mitigating flooding, especially in the vicinity of the Mais Muir Development, which is often inundated following heavy rainfall.
The project is being carried out under the second phase of the Major Infrastructure Development Programme in western Jamaica.
It began earlier this month and is expected to be completed by September.
