The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) says it has received $120 million from the Government to effect much-needed repairs on approximately 30 Garbage Compactor Trucks.

The Executive Director of the NSWMA Audley Gordon says each of the four regions will receive repaired units and this will significantly assist with the collection and disposal of solid waste in a timely manner.

The NSWMA says the National Works Agency is working with its the Equipment Management department to prepare the estimates with the intention of starting work on the units by the end of January.

It says it’s aiming to have the work completed in March.
