On Thursday evening, specially invited guests, stakeholders, and members of the media gathered at the Spanish Court Worthington in Kingston to bear witness as Magna Motors, the exclusive distributor of Hyundai motor vehicles in Jamaica, inaugurated Magna Corporate Fleet Services – a resource that provides mobility solutions to public- and private-sector companies.

Among the vehicles on display were the Santa Fe, Tucson (two or three trim levels presented), Creta (three trim levels presented), Elantra, H100 truck, and H100 bus.

Erick Gutierrez, managing director of Magna Motors Dealership Limited, said, “Since 2015, when Magna Dominican Republic (DR) assumed exclusive distribution for Hyundai vehicles in Jamaica, the brand has experienced rapid growth. Magna Jamaica has been benefiting from the transfer of Magna DR’s considerable expertise in the area of fleet management. Magna DR provides a wide range of services to its clients, and now, Magna Jamaica has inaugurated these services to offer them to local companies.”

These services will be offered to Magna Motors’ fleet clients, which are those companies that purchase five or more Hyundai vehicles.

Services include discounted vehicle prices from regular market prices, five years’ factory warranty, special discounts on parts, offers of consignment parts, free technical and non-technical training of technicians that provides them with certification, a free 24/7 wrecker service, a 24/7 hotline service, and free fleet evaluation.

As their capabilities strengthen, the Magna Group will continue to enhance service delivery to its fleet clients. Island Car Rentals, Digicel, Carreras, Honey Bun, Nestle, Avis, and Guardsman Group are among the companies that have already embarked on the journey with Magna.

Venue reveal a pleasant surprise

Launching their Corporate Fleet Services was not the only reveal of the night as guests were pleasantly surprised at the unveiling of the brand’s newest addition to its suite of vehicles, the all-new Hyundai Venue.

The Venue, a subcompact SUV, presents as a cheap and cheerful way into the in-vogue SUV lifestyle as it is dubbed ‘Hyundai’s most affordable SUV to date’ and will “sufficiently cater to the needs of urban adventurers”.

The all-new Venue will join Magna Motors’ SUV line-up of the Hyundai Santa Fe, Tucson, and Creta. Other Hyundai vehicles distributed by the automotive company include the HD72, HD75, HD65, H1 Panel, and Passenger, which fall within its commercial catalogue, as well as the Accent, Elantra, and Sonata as part of its sedan range.

“It looks like a very good fleet vehicle, that will be able to do all that we need. What we do is mainly mails with vehicles of this size. So we would be able to carrying out all our activities on a daily basis, while minimising our use in gas. It would be a good buy.”

– Dwayne James (National Land Agency)
